Better World Books

Better World Books is a German based publishing firm and an affiliation of A Better World Movement, a movement of earnest seekers of a better world, with works in human rights activism and humanitarianism. The mandate of Better World Books is to raise immense awareness of human rights violations, abuses, neglects, denials, advocacy, protection, awareness and activism through the literature. It aims simply to publish novels of the human rights activism genre. This genre is being introduced to feature and promote the works of novelists that can write about the lives of human rights activists all through the world. The objective is to promote the lives of human rights defenders, project their daily routes which are fraught with thorns and threats, and proclaim their triumphs over injustice and oppression.

Better World Books is a project established in honour of human rights activists and organizations who have opposed, most times at great danger to their lives, corrupt dictators all over the world. They are hardly celebrated enough, hardly the subject of great novels or films despite their huge sacrifices for a just society. Better World Books believes they are true heroes of the human story and has undertaken, therefore, to celebrate them.

With time, works which revolves round other better world topics such as peace and security, development, and humanitarianism will be reviewed and considered for acceptance too. We are currently screening the first set of manuscripts submitted by a few authors for publication. You can send a short excerpt of your novel, a concept note and a brief information about yourself to: books@abetterworldmovement.org.

Chambers Umezulike’s “Malcolm,” is our first work as it met the standards and aspirations of better World Books.
